About Us
Every creature longs to know their origin. Where did we come from? Where do we belong? Our venerated mission is the incalculable task of the identification and classification of every creature gifted with intelligent life. Currently, the scope of O.R.I.G.Y.N. is set within the vast confines of our Local Cluster, a barred spiral galaxy with a D 25 isophotal diameter estimated to be between 1.1 and 28.6 kiloparsecs. This is commonly referred to as the Milky Way Galaxy. It is a beautiful, enormous and dangerous biome of ancient stars and planets both foreign and familiar. We have been working behind the scenes for eons, but we have so much farther to go.
Life is waiting to be found. Untold billions of newborn lifeforms are estimated to be born, created or forged every single day. 3 million more arrive every second. Every discovery you make is vital, and brings us closer to the truth. Our task is vast, and important. There is so much we still don’t know. What is out there? Who? In order to provide meaning and order for the beings in this galaxy, we must work tirelessly and without error every moment. Without pause.

O.R.I.G.Y.N Officarius
A man whose origin is shrouded in mystery, the venerated Officarius of the Organization of Root Intergalactic Youth Network allows only his actions to speak for him. Through his diligent and tireless efforts, his extensive network of diverse lifeforms has brought order and understanding throughout the Milky Way Galaxy, often in places of greatest darkness and chaos. A fearless and charismatic leader, many adore him, and most respect or fear him. Yet some feel uneasy about his detachment from reality. Can a man who has never been observed eating, sleeping, or laughing with friends truly be considered…human?
Mordecai Ingstrom Havensworth
Software Engineer
Perhaps the only entity older than Lord Mordecai Ingstrom Havensworth the 5th aboard ORIGYN is the floating census network itself! Lord Mordecai represents the final remnant of the ancient scribes of Javentus-MoraÍtenae. It is said that most of the rules and guiding principles ORIGYN developed and still follows originated from this venerable sect. However, details of this distant culture remain closely guarded secrets, possibly perishing soon with Lord Mordecai (whose lordship holds weight solely in his home system). Nevertheless, his ageless wisdom continues to guide the Officarius, and all within ORIGYN regard Lord Mordecai with immense affection, unwavering respect, and steadfast loyalty.
Richard Lexington
O.R.I.G.Y.N Organic Matter Medicus
The prestige of the Organic Matter Medicus position at ORIGYN allows any person to hold their head high. Though critics frequently accuse Lexington of lifting his head higher than others, he refuses to allow petty words or jealousies to distract him from his lofty station. Richard Lexington always knew he was destined for greatness. As the firstborn son of the renowned Lexington family from the wealthiest planet in the affluent Finine System, Richard quickly catapulted through refined culture and his impressive educational background. Through his charitable contributions to impoverished planets in nearby systems and diligent efforts to elevate not just his family but those most in need, his actions drew universal attention. Which also included the watchful eyes of Aleron Solgrave, ORIGYN’s Officarius. Elevating himself as Solgrave’s personal colleague, Richard Lexington’s partnership with ORIGYN achieved substantial strides in order, methodology, and pride.
Henry “Hank” Vinkman

The greatest priority of everyone in ORIGYN, whether of high or low station, is the ongoing discovery and preservation of life within the Milky Way Galaxy. This mission is known and is universally celebrated. Nevertheless, it is no secret that there is considerable profit to be made in the business of birth—a fact not lost on savvy entrepreneurs. Henry Vinkman is a relatively new addition to ORIGYN, yet his reputation, whether admired or reviled, has rippled across corporate sectors over numerous annual cycles. His business acumen rivals industry giants such as Sacral Itom or Selina Tetramax. Thus, it surprised corporate executives and average galactic citizens alike when Vinkman proposed himself to Aleron Solgrave for the role of Organic Matter Medicus at ORIGYN. Many struggled to see the parallels between corporate endeavors and the medical field, but Vinkman insisted this was the correct path for his career. Such foresight and determination impressed ORIGYN’s Officarius and remain valued assets to the organization.

The newest Medicus aboard ORIGYN, Wendy Pfeffernüsse, is already acknowledged as one of its greatest influences. Hailing from Earth, the German mother of three always aspired to more than baking and homemaking. She single-handedly revolutionized her county’s political office twice. She received the Nobel Prize in galactic year 202 [FIX] for her diplomatic efforts in system 35-671, securing a peace treaty between Russia’s Lark-Vens and the German-led Exo-Squad. Additionally, Wendy earned distinguished accolades across numerous fields, holding advanced degrees in Biology, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Environmental Science, MHA, and Medicine. Yet her passions consistently lead her back to humanity, and its future generations, ultimately crossing paths with ORIGYN’s Officarius, Aleron Solgrave. Her compassion for all life, and dedication to peace continue to drive her profound commitment to individuals within and beyond ORIGYN.

O.R.I.G.Y.N Organic Matter Medicus
Though the robotic lifeforms of the Milky Way Galaxy adhere to myriad beliefs—like all beings—some beliefs are more problematic than others. Consider the mechanical Medicus aboard ORIGYN, designated GR8N1S, running software version 24.842. Its state-of-the-art programming enables it and its robotic companions to perform the multi-billions of tasks essential both to the people aboard ORIGYN and the floating vessel itself, Tasks these immense require not only super-genius-level intellect but an interface between organics and robotics. Many believe this approaches and abuses a line that represents concept of free will without fully embracing it. Robotic critics who have obtained autonomy have voiced their objections, some even launching attacks against ORIGYN and its personnel. Others, both organic and robotic, have defended ORIGYN, asserting that robots possess no greater rights than ordinary tools or spacecraft. The Officarius remains silent on both fronts, maintaining peace from afar. Yet it was he who personally defined the specifications for GR8N1S upon its commissioning, fueling ongoing speculation among humans and robots alike.
